{Free} and Simple Beauty

Yesterday afternoon I spent some time out in our front yard, just lazying around with my sweet little shadow, i.e. my toddler! Leave it to a child to help show you the beauty in the simple things...like the bugs that he sees crawling on the ground, the birds flying overhead or the "flowers" (aka, weeds!) that are growing in the grass. I love the glimpses that I get when I look through my son's eyes...the world is such a carefree place, and it is filled with wonderful things, simple things.

After traipsing through our jungle of a front yard, I gathered up a few little pretties to display on my kitchen window sill above my sink. Isn't it refreshing to incorporate some free & simple beauty into your home?! I sure think so!

I love this sweet little blue glass vase, it is just perfect for holding
my little treasures from the yard.

  3. I love your sweet comments about seeing life through the eyes of Johnathan. So sweet. I can imagine our eyes as adults could be opened up quite a bit more to the beauty and simplicity of the world if we would only pause and take those moments to do so. I guess that's what children are for...to remind us that it can be a much simpler and pleasant place. Oh, and love your little posies!

Thanks also for the link on the left for GGD! :)

  9. In my world, even the weeds are watered and allowed to grow. If its green, if it flowers, I want it. So hard to find that around here so I take it how I can get it. Picked flowers from the yard, the woods, the side of the road was always my favorite thing to do growing up. Making crowns from the clover. Lovely memories! Hope you are having a beautiful weekend. Blessings, Tammy
